SEARCCT launched a campaign called #SenjataSaya (#MyWeaponIs) in which 5 influencers were identified and engaged to produce twelve (12) video and five (5) audio public service announcements (PSAs), which are currently being disseminated on social media platforms such as Facebook (MyAman), Instagram (Handle: @my_aman) as well as three (3) radio stations, namely, SURIA FM, RAKITA FM and KK12FM. SEARCCT also commissioned an advertising agency, BBDO (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. to produce the video and audio PSAs.
The #SenjataSaya theme attempts to spread positive messaging that even ordinary citizens can be heroes (without having to resort to violence) and that everyone has their own unique “weapon” of choice in order to make meaningful, positive change.
In this regard, in order to ensure that the messages would resonate with our targeted audience, SEARCCT identified the following influencers

Influencers include:

  • Fazleena Hishamuddin (Poet) – uses poetry in the national language to talk about current issues;
  • Dr. Madhu Sudhan (Founder of the Teddy Mobile Clinic) – a non-profit organisation that provides medical services to the needy in the heart of KL city).
  • Azra Banu (Founder of Carefugees) – non profit organisation made up of mostly youths who carry out charity drives for refugees.
  • Amy Dangin (radio announcer) – does public service announcements about communal values on her own radio show.
  • Airliftz (rapper)
